The staff and lay leadership here at Waples Memorial UMC is comprised of men and women who love, care and pray for the people of our church and our community. They are constantly working to "do church better," by becoming completely focused on our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. If you have any questions for any of our staff or volunteer leaders, feel free to reach out and email them or call our church office to speak with them. You can contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.

My name is Ericka Hinton. I joined the Waples staff in July of 2019. I have been a Church Administrative Assistant for 15 years. I am a Denison native and I worked in the healthcare field for 25 years for Medicare. I am married to Hal, who is a barber. We have 3 grown children; 2 daughters one son and 2 granddaughters who we adore. Thank you for the warm welcome, Waples family!
Hi there! I'm Ashley (Williams) Palmore, and I am the Business Administrator at Waples. I have been a part of the staff since September 2018. My family joined the church in 2003 during a time when the Waples Youth was growing rapidly. I went on several mission trips throughout my high school years. In 2006 my family and I were baptized by Jim Bowden in the Chapel, and we officially became members of Waples. My husband Jesse and I have been married since 2012, and have two sweet boys named Parker and Paxton. In our spare time we love spending time outdoors, coaching/watching sports, playing board games, and enjoying time with our families. Other than working in the church office, I also own a women's boutique. I opened Southern Bling Boutique on Main Street in 2013 due to my love of fashion. My passion is helping women find affordable and stylish clothes/accessories. I also serve on the Waples Day School board, as well as Mayes Elementary PTO. We love our Denison community, and plan to continue to raise our family here for years to come!
The Waples church became my family when I began in 2019. The choir and church community welcomed me with open arms. When I arrived, I was extremely nervous to begin my life as a music director. I consider myself lucky to have started my career with an amazing choir and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. One of my responsibilities as music director is to choose music for the Sunday service and lead the choir each Sunday morning. I truly love it and I don’t even see it as a job. It’s one of my favorite days of the week. Music has always been a part of my life, and it’s the only thing I see myself doing. I want to share my love and appreciation with everyone around me, especially during times of worship.
